Tummy Tuck in Turkey
Home » Tummy Tuck »Liposuction surgery is the process of removing stubborn fat deposits that accumulate in the body and are resistant to diet and exercise. It is possible to lift the tummy or reduce the hips with liposuction. You can find further details regarding the Abdominoplasty process below.
Tummy tuck surgery is a type of body contouring surgery. The operation yields excellent and satisfactory results. Abdominoplasty will be performed under general anesthesia and will take approximately 2.5 hours. It may be necessary to combine this procedure with liposuction to contour the body more effectively and to get better results.
How many sizes can you lose with a tummy tuck?
The number of clothing sizes you can lose with a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) varies greatly among individuals, as it depends on several factors like the amount of excess skin and fat removed, the patient’s body structure, and their overall health and lifestyle.
A tummy tuck is primarily designed to remove excess skin and tighten abdominal muscles, rather than directly reduce weight or clothing size. However, patients often find they drop a few clothing sizes as a result of the surgery, since the abdomen becomes flatter and more toned. On average, patients might see a reduction of one to three sizes.
It’s important to note that a tummy tuck is not a weight loss surgery. It is best suited for individuals who are already at or near their ideal weight but struggle with excess skin or weakened abdominal muscles due to factors like pregnancy, weight loss, or aging.
The actual change in clothing size will vary from person to person, and maintaining a stable weight with a healthy lifestyle is crucial for lasting results. Consulting with a qualified plastic surgeon can provide a more personalized expectation based on individual circumstances.
How is abdominoplasty performed?
Abdominoplasty removes the skin that lies between the navel and the upper part of the pubis. The loose appearance that results from pregnancy or fluctuating weight are eliminated to create a flatter and firmer look. The excessive skin is removed and the upper skin segment is stretched down. A new navel is reconstructed in the correct anatomical location. A tummy tuck commonly requires a simultaneous liposuction. The combination of the two procedures yields a better defined body shape. With abdominoplasty, we aim to create the abdomen of an athlete.
Abdominoplasty without Scars
It is not 100% possible to perform tummy tuck in Turkey with zero scarring. However, the surgical scar can be monitored after the operation, and made almost invisible through a second smaller operation after 6 months. Yet, even this operation cannot completely eliminate the scar. As a scalpel is used for incision, it is not possible for the skin to completely return to its original form.
Care After Abdominoplasty
We use dissolvable sutures in tummy tuck surgery. This means that the stitches will be absorbed after a while and they do not need to be removed. We recommend our patients to stand with a slight hunch immediately after surgery to prevent excessive stress on the operated region. The patient will be able to go back to their normal life only after an average of 2 weeks.
Some degree of bruising and swelling is normal after a tummy tuck. This is inevitable but temporary. You will be completely back to normal after one month. This operation will not require any further adjustments. You will only need to come in once more for a postoperative follow-up examination. You will not need to have further or repeat operations after a tummy tuck.
Abdominoplasty Post-Pregnancy
Every woman can be unhappy with the sagging skin and belly fat that results from pregnancy and childbirth. Some people can get rid of their pregnancy bellies through exercise, but the majority of women find that they are permanently stuck with their new bodies. These women will try and find methods to get a flat stomach through various exercise methods and diets, but the only definitive and permanent solution is surgical intervention. It is possible to fix the postpartum ‘pooch’ through a simple operation. This procedure will remove the excess skin and stretch the remaining skin towards the pubis. At this point, it is possible to reconstruct the navel as the patient desires.
There are special techniques and smart surgery options for postpartum women with abdominal issues. If you have any questions about this operation, please contact me through the Contact section or directly through my phone number.
Pregnancy after tummy tuck
It is possible to get pregnant as soon as one month after a tummy tuck. This procedure will not prevent you from getting pregnant, especially as the skin is very elastic and can expand again. Abdominoplasty does not affect a woman’s ability to become pregnant.
Liposuction and Abdominoplasty
Liposuction is commonly preferred especially by my Turkish patients. I believe this is due to the average Turkish person’s genetic disposition to depositing fat in the abdominal region. We recommend our abdominoplasty patients to have liposuction simultaneously to improve the outcomes. This combined procedure is called ‘body contouring’.
Tummy Tuck and Surgical Fat Removal
We sometimes need to remove abdominal fat during abdominoplasty through combining it with liposuction. The cost of the combined abdominoplasty and liposuction depends on the amount of removed fat. How much the entire procedure will cost usually becomes clear during the examination.
Who is Suitable for Abdominoplasty?
Some patients cannot undergo abdominoplasty right away. For me, I determined the surgery threshold at 80 kilograms. If the patient is heavier than this determined weight limit, I will not perform the tummy tuck. Instead, I encourage my patients to lose some weight through diet and exercise to drop below 80, so that the abdominal skin sags more. This way, it will be possible to remove more skin at once, and the results will be more satisfying and the tummy will look more athletic. I do not find that this procedure is effective for patients that weight over 80 kilograms.
The risks of abdominoplasty
There are no risks associated with abdominoplasty. The operation is most usually successful. There is no risk of death. However, the surgery must be performed in a fully equipped hospital with an intensive care unit for safety. That’s how I prefer to work. Despite the low risk, in case of an adverse event, that hospital will provide the initial medical intervention. Any requirement of medical transport can unnecessarily increase the potential risks.
Will I need any further operations after abdominoplasty?
You will not routinely repeat the tummy tuck, it is a one-time operation. But I still would like to answer the most common question: what is the probability of recurrence after abdominoplasty? If you keep gaining and losing weight or if you get pregnant, it is possible that the hormones will cause the stomach to sag again. This is actually very natural. The patient needs to act responsibly regarding their own health after abdominoplasty.
Abdominoplasty Prices
The prices of tummy tuck are determined by the extent of the surgery. Minor, extensive or total tummy tucks require the use of different interventions and surgical techniques. This will reflect on the duration of the operation and the required labor. The price also depends on whether the operation will be combined with liposuction and the hospital that the patient will prefer.
The choice of hospital will determine the comfort and luxury of the treatment process, which will reflect to the price. If you require a more comfortable setting, this can increase the total cost of the operation. Please provide us with detailed information regarding your condition through a phone call or come in for a consultation for a more accurate price estimate.
